Tarbes gets back in touch with tradition with big tarbes’ carnival!

Teams from Tarbes Tourisme, along with Cinthia Peyret, Carnival delegate,have been working to revive the Carnival and invite the public to come and meet the King of the Carnival, surrounded by his bodyguard and his royal court.
Watch out for the bears, Spring is on its way…

Don’t forget to dress up to join the parade!

Back to the programme of the 2026 edition

2 p.m.: Gathering at Place du Foirail (Halle)
2.30 p.m.: Departure of the procession
3 p.m.: Arrival at Place de l’Hôtel de Ville and handing over of the keys to the Carnival King + musical entertainment
4 p.m.: Departure of the procession towards Rue Maréchal Foch in the opposite direction, Place de Verdun, Rue Brauhauban to the rear of the courthouse
5 p.m.: Arrest of the Carnival King behind the courthouse
5.15 p.m.: Sentencing of the Carnival King on Place de la Mairie
5.30 p.m.: Cremation of the Carnival King on Place de la Mairie
6 p.m.: End of Carnival
